WHAT LITTLE GIRLS WISH DADDIES KNEW

My wife sent me this.  Keep in mind I have 3 girls, currently ages 7, 8 & 12.  After reading something like this I feel like a complete failure as a father.  I lose my temper too quickly.  I'm sure I don't listen as well as I should.  I haven't given them the attention they deserve.  While I'm not guilty of every offense on this list, I have lots of room to improve.  #16 really hit me hard as I struggle with personal contentment - I always feel I need to be better, do better, have more, etc.  While working toward improvement in our lives is a noble goal, it can easily turn into an unhealthy behavior (as most behaviors when taken to an extreme).

That's why we need God's grace and favor upon our families.  If it were left up to us, our families would be in ruin!  However, that does not relieve us of our responsibility to be the best dad we can be.  Even if you only have boys, I recommend reading this and taking it to heart for the day you may have granddaughters.
